Numerical studies of charged particles in a magnetic field: Mars application

Abstract: Abstract:An approach to model the Martian magnetization can be done using classical source models. Classical models, such as uniformly magnetized spheres and cylinders, allow for the introduction of additional constraints related to the available information of the magnetic field and its sources. The use of a suitable conservative numerical scheme in Cartesian coordinates was carried out for numerical studies. In this work the motion of different charged particles under the influence of different magnetized so… Show more

“…Thus, obvious close congruence of results of the approximated solution with respect to the solution of the full ODE system can be considered as the advances of the suggested approach. Meanwhile, it should be highlighted that quasi‐periodic character of the obtained solutions is in agreement with the other results available in literature (see works among [8, 17–40] which concern the problem under consideration, where [37–40] are within the framework of the analytical approach to the study of mathematical models); besides, we should note that the elegant partial semianalytical or numerical solutions have been obtained in [23–27] for the special cases of magnetic field (with zero electric field's components).…”

“…In this paper we propose a viewpoint besides physicist, mathematician. For example, in previous studies we have presented a numerical scheme that describes a family of trajectories of charged particles under the action of a generic magnetic field in Cartesian coordinates ( [11]). This numerical scheme explains the trajectories of these particles under the action of a dipolar magnetic field and is described in Ramírez-Nicolás et al, 2014.…”
