Numerical simulations of crashworthiness performance of multi-cell structures considering damage evolution criteria

Abstract: Abstract. In this paper finite element software Abaqus was used to analyse the effect of cross-sectional shape on the crashworthiness performance of multi-cell profiles. An emphasis was placed on the modelling of the damage initiation criteria and its evolution during the crash event.
