Abstract:The problem of cross-modulation of the electromagnetic waves generated by two oscillating electric dipoles placed in the center of a spherical cavity surrounded by a nonlinear plasma is considered. One of the dipoles is amplitude-modulated with low (acoustic) frequency, and the plasma is assumed slightly ionized, rarefied, and cold. Second-harmonic generation is investigated by means of a perturbative technique in the frame of the "quasi-hydrodynamic" approach, assuming a nonzero electron collision frequency. … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
