Abstract:Alcohol significantly affects blood rheology and influences the mechanical behavior of red blood cells (RBCs). Previous studies indicate that plasma-RBC and multiple RBC interaction are important indicators for atherosclerosis progression. Therefore, multiphysics interactions under highly viscous conditions of alcohol consumption and stenosis structure must be investigated. A 2D microcapillary model, wherein multiple RBCs float through a stenotic structure, was established to investigate the effect of alcohol … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
