Abstract:The aim of the present paper is to investigate a correlation between collision damage parameters, which could improve Monte Carlo simulation of random collision damages and facilitate its implementation into the risk assessment of maritime transportation. The proposed approach is based on the explicit LS-Dyna simulation of the collision between a ferry and an Aframax tanker, as striking and struck ship respectively. Numerical simulations are then approximated by the surrogate model enabling evaluation of damag… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
