Abstract:A more adequate extended Prandtl-Tomlinson model in two dimensions (2D) analysis is proposed in the aim to thoroughly investigate the interplay between kinetic friction, relative humidity (RH), normal load, and temperature in both contact and tapping mode atomic force microscopic (AFM). In contact mode operation, results firstly show that for various applied normal loads highly wetted surface in contrast to partially wetted surface exhibits lower friction at finite temperature range. This phenomenon is attribu… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
