Numerical and experimental aspects of thermally induced vibration in real rotors

Abstract: Temperature fields in electric energy generators may lead to mechanical dissbalance of an already balanced rotor. The author collected information in a number of steam power plants and confirmed the existence of the problem. This paper presents the specific case of thermal deformation of the rotor, caused by an asymmetrical temperature field in scale of rotor. On the grounds of the relevant physical aspects, we proposed a mathematical model identifying fields in a turbo generator rotor and suggest the optimum … Show more

“…The touch is on a certain contact area, which is generally curved. [6,9,11,12] Another component of rolling friction is the torque that acts against rotation. It is known that the magnitude of the deformation of a certain material below the elastic limit is independent of the loading but is also influenced by the load sense.…”

“…The beginning of the bearing deformation is reflected in the bearing behavior, typically by raising the temperature or by increasing noise and stronger vibrations. The article analyzes the effect of the operating temperature on the life of rolling bearings [2,4,5,6]. The thesis describes the simulation of rolling bearings at different temperatures.…”

“…Reliability function and failure intensity function are unique, i.e., a specific reliability function corresponds to a single specific failure intensity function, and vice versa (Jevtic et al, 2011). Failure density function in the case of exponential distribution is referred to in Eq.…”

“…In addition, most of the existing research results of the stress and displacement distribution and the stiffness characteristics of the bearing do not take into account the influence of the external environmental factors of bearing and structural parameters or only consider the single influence factor. 2127 It is urgent to carry out the study of the bearing characteristics under the influence of multiple factors.…”
