Numerical analysis of the stress state of a spherical contact system with an interlayer of antifriction material

Show more

“…The modified PTFE advantage in terms of wear resistance, radiation resistance, and elastic properties compared with PTFE-4 is noted in [1,2]. The work [3] is devoted to the behavior mathematical description of the modified PTFE in the framework of the elastoplastic deformational theory. An experimental study of the material frictional properties in the specific operating pressures of the rotors supports range of 10-20 MPa was carried out in [6].…”

“…It was noted that the modified PTFE has an average friction coefficient of significantly less than that of ordinary PTFE-4, with a surface wear rate lower by a couple of orders. Modern antifriction materials are widely used in medicine [7,8], aviation [9], bridge engineering [3,5], industry and other branches of science and technology. Experimentally substantiated effective numerical models describing the polymers behavior, including within the framework of frictional contact, are necessary for their effective use as anti-friction coatings and layers.…”
