Numerical Analysis of the Effect of Reduction Gas Composition and Temperature on the Quality of Sponge Iron Product

Abstract: Reduction zone of iron ore reactor have been simulated. This is a part of counter current gas-solid reactor for producing sponge iron. The aim of this research is to study the effect of reduction gas composition and temperature on quality and product capacity of sponge iron products through mathematical modeling arrangement and simulation. Simultaneous mass and energy balances along the reactor lead to a set of ordinary differential equation which includes kinetic equations. Kinetic equations of reduction of h… Show more

“…If COG is processed via SR, synthesis gas (or syngas) will be produced; the related reactions from SR of COG are listed in Table 2. Once CO and H 2 are generated, they both can be adopted as reducing agents for IR of iron ore. i n t e r n a t i o n a l j o u r n a l o f h y d r o g e n e n e r g y 3 7 ( 2 0 1 2 ) 1 1 7 4 8 e1 1 7 5 8 Reviewing literature indicates that IR of iron oxides has been investigated through mathematical model [30], experimental study [18,31,32] and kinetic analysis [33,34]. Table 3 gives a brief summary of related research of iron oxide reduction.…”
