Abstract:A study of the 206Pb decay was performed by nuclear orientation of 206Bi nuclei in a nickel host at low temperatures. The hyperfine field of 206Bi/Ni was determined to be 400 ± 34 kG, with 65% of the bismuth nuclei occupying lattice sites. Mixing ratios were determined for several transitions in the 206Pb decay. Attenuation coefficients due to reorientation effects in the isomeric state at 2200 keV excitation in 206Pb were measured.A discussion of the reasons for fractional occupation of lattice sites by the b… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
