Nuclear exclusive vector meson photoproduction

Abstract: We calculate the nuclear cross section for vector meson exclusive photoproduction within the QCD color dipole picture and in the Regge approach. For the former approach, we have considered the phenomenological saturation model, whereas for the latter we use a model based on the dipole Pomeron framework. Theoretical estimates for scattering on both light and heavy nuclei are given over a large range on energy.

“…Refs. [14,18,19]) (1) where (Ψ E * Ψ) T,L denotes the overlap of the photon and exclusive final state wave functions. The variable z (1−z) is the longitudinal momentum fractions of the quark (antiquark), ∆ denotes the transverse momentum lost by the outgoing proton (t = −∆ 2 ) and x is the Bjorken variable.…”

“…Here, we follows the analytically simple DGKP approach 22 , which assumes that the dependencies on r and z of the wavefunction are factorised, with a Gaussian dependence on r (For a detailed discussion see Refs. 23,24 ). The main shortcoming of this approach is that it breaks the rotational invariance between transverse and longitudinally polarized vector mesons 18 .…”

“…The light-cone wave function of the photon splitting into the dipole can be calculated in QED, but the forward wave function of the vector meson cannot be calculated analytically. The forward wave functions of vector meson almost are modeled as the light-cone wave function of the photon, and the models of the vector mesons include the Gauss-LC [28], the DGKP [34,35], the boosted Gaussian [36,37], and so on. This paper is organized as follows: a brief review of the dipole model and the wave function will be presented in Sect.…”
