En este trabajo se propone analizar el modo en que Pilar Bellver se vale del recurso de las cartas de amor como cauce narrativo para construir su novela "A Virginia le gustaba Vita" (2016). A partir del extenso conocimiento de la autora sobre la época en la que surgió la historia de amor entre Virginia Woolf y Vita Sackville-West, acerca de la que realizamos una previa contextualización, ofrece dicha novela una interesante oportunidad para estudiar las condiciones de desarrollo de una relación heterodoxa en una sociedad extremadamente puritana. Es a través de las propias cartas, al darle forma narrativa, como se construye la historia de amor, con sus matices y sus vaivenes. Se postula en última instancia que el circuito comunicativo se ve ampliado y enriquecido al incluirse a una receptora en el apéndice de la novela, una sobrina de la autora que se decide a expresar su deseo amoroso hacia una compañera de clase espoleada por la lectura de las cartas. Es así como el alegato feminista incluye también una reivindicación del amor queer perfectamente trazada por la autora mediante un componente metafictivo.
