Novel strategy for fault e-diagnosis of wind energy conversion systems using wavelet analysis based on Rt-Lab and Arduino

Abstract: The diagnosis of wind energy conversion systems (WECS) turns out to be necessary because of their relatively high cost of operation and maintenance. Wind turbines are hard-to-access structures, and they are often located in remote areas. Therefore, a remote diagnosis (e-diagnosis) is required. This paper proposes an alternative approach for the e-diagnosis of a WECS based on the discrete wavelet transform (DWT) and frequency analysis of the aero generator stator currents. To validate this approach, real-time h… Show more

“…Selection of OA must be done according to the number of factors or parameters which are of 2 (XM and F) in our case. By looking at the OA library, the OA L9(3 4 ) is selected for our problem. As the number of parameters is only two, only the first two columns are kept, as shown in Table 1.…”

“…The use of squirrel cage asynchronous machine in isolated areas to convert wind energy into electrical energy has many advantages such as high reliability, low cost, maintenance free, self-protection against faults and overloads, and robust construction and ease of operation [3], [4]. Concerning the control of self-excited induction generator (SEIG), a high-performance maximum power point tracking (MPPT) strategy in the presence of iron losses and nonlinear magnetic characteristic is developed in [5], this strategy aims to: i) reduce the rotor and stator currents by taking control of the rotor flux and ii) capture the maximum wind power for insuring a high MPPT accuracy.…”

“…CMOS-based transceiver modules with OOK designs have been demonstrated with 18 GB/s data throughput at 60 GHz and low size and power overheads [24]. However, channel noise and low spectral efficiency can degrade performance [25]. To meet the ever-growing demands for high data rates in WiNoCs, researchers have explored multi-channel transceiver designs.…”
