Abstract:Novel simple cyanine dyes, carbocyanine dyes and dicarbocyanine dyes derived from the nucleus 6-amino-3-methyl-1,2 diaza 4,13 dihydronaphthacene 5, 7, 12 trione (2) were prepared. The electronic visible absorption spectra of all the novel synthesized cyanine dyes were investigated in 95 % ethanol to evaluate their photosensitization characters and uses these dyes as photographic sensitizers in industry.
