“…These need to be effective against coronaviruses, including SARS-CoV, MERS-CoV, and SARS-CoV-2 [121,230,231]. These can be viral protease inhibitors [231], enzyme inhibitors [232], antivirals [228,233], immunomodulatory [234], and treatment adjuvants [235]. That is the primary class that has attracted most of the patents [121].…”

“…Phosphine addition to A occurs below the metallic plane trans to the capping sulfido ligand. The formation of the P–Ru bond (κ 1 -PS) is accompanied by the polyhedral expansion of the adjacent hydride-bridged Ru–Ru bond to yield to the opened cluster D in a process that underscores the coordinative flexibility in metal clusters where metal–metal and metal–ligand vertex bonds serve as latent coordination sites for ligand addition and substrate activation reactions. D lies 25.5 kcal/mol above the reactants (Figure ) and is tangentially related to the expanded clusters found by Planalp and Vahrenkamp in the ligand-induced openings of the phosphinidene-capped tetrahedral clusters FeCo 2 (CO) 9 (μ 3 -PMe) and FeCoWCp′(CO) 8 (μ 3 -PMe) (where Cp′ = Cp, Cp*). , In that study, several PMe 3 - and PPhMe 2 -substituted products were characterized by spectroscopic and crystallographic methods, and phosphine addition (2 equiv) was shown to occur with the scission of two metal–metal bonds through an associative addition process. Scheme illustrates the sequence for the FeCo 2 cluster.…”

“…Simultaneously with hydrogen deuterium exchange the substitution of bridging chlorine for methylate anion occurs by scheme characteristic for substitution of three electron bridging ligands in triangular clusters [15][16][17][18].…”
