The synthesis of heterocyclic azo-dyes via conventional heating and microwave (MW) heating was investigated. From a sequence of reactions starting from cyanoacetic acid, 4-arylazo-2H-pyrazol-3-ylamines and 4-arylazo-2-phenyl-2H-pyrazol-3-ylamines were obtained. The structures these compounds were obtained by inspection 766 of spectroscopic and analytical techniques including 1 H and 13 C NMR spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and elemental analysis. The fastness properties and UV/Vis absorption spectroscopic data of these disperse dyes in printing polyester fabrics were investigated.

Synthesis, Solvatochromism, Antibacterial Activity and Dyeing Performance of Tricyanofuran‐Hydrazone Analogues

Four novel tricyanofuran disperse dyestuffs 3a‐d bearing hydrazone moiety were synthesized in order to investigate their possible antibacterial activity. The hydrazone moiety was introduced via azo‐coupling of the tricyanofuran with the appropriately functionalized diazonium salt. The optical properties of these compounds showed interesting solvatochromic properties. The absorption peaks are observed in the wavelength range 454–513 nm. It can also be seen that they display different maximum emissions in the wavelength range 528–615 nm. The functional groups attached to the hydrazone moiety influenced both on absorption and emission maxima. The prepared hydrazone‐based disperse dyes were applied for dyeing polyester fabrics, affording satisfactory results. Furthermore, compounds 3a and 3c demonstrated a relatively strong antibacterial activity against some selected gram positive Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis; and gram negative Escherichia coli and Pseudomonas aeuroginosa employing Ampicillin as standard drug.

Asian Journal of Chemistry; Vol. 30, No. 2 (2018), 280-292 in the azo dyes compounds, such as hydroxyl, carboxylic acid, halogens, esters and amines [19,20]. An important uses of azo imidazole compounds used analytical reagents for solvent extraction to determination of some metal ions [21,22]. The heterocyclic azo imidazole compounds have important role in spectral determination field to determine the trace amount of elements especially transition metal ions and heavy metals because of high sensitivity and selectivity [23,24].The present work describes the synthesis and spectral characterizations of 2'[2'-(1-hydroxy-4-methyl phenyl)azo]-imidazole (HMePAI = HL), containing phenolic-OH function and imidazole moiety. The heterocyclic mono azo dye ligand and its metal complexes were studied by various spectral analysis and screened for their biological activities. As well as the study of ligand and Ni(II) complex of prescription drug anticancer by using the lines of cancerous liver cells of the type HePG2 and compared with line of the ordinary cells.
