“…The peak at 1657 cm –1 was the C–N bonds, which was produced from the quaternization reaction between chloromethyl groups and N -methyl imidazole. The peak at 1440 cm –1 was ascribed to the bending vibrations of methylene (CH 2 ). , The wide band appeared at 1150–1050 cm –1 , and these peaks belonged to Si–O–C, Si–O–Si, and C–O–C, which was mainly due to the sol–gel reaction of PVA and TEOS . Finally, the peak at 743 cm –1 originated from stretching vibrations of the C–Cl bonds, which had been analyzed in detail in the previous section.…”

“…In the FTIR spectra of pure PECH, the stretching vibrations of C–H bonds in PECH were located at 2956, 2925, and 2875 cm –1 . The peak was detected at 1429 cm –1 in Figure , which corresponded to the bending vibrations of symmetrical and asymmetrical C–H bonds . The peak was detected at 1257 cm –1 in Figure , which was assigned to the stretching vibrations of the C–H bonds in the −CH 2 Cl groups, while the peak was observed at 743 cm –1 in Figure , which originated from the stretching vibrations of the C–Cl bonds in the −CH 2 Cl groups .…”
