Novel MCR Synthesis of Post Transition Metal Complexes with Substituted Hydroxy Quinolines as Potent Antimicrobial Agent

Abstract: Metal complexes with substituted quinolines especially copper, zinc and nickel complexes significantly reduce the decay of wood, cellulose and hemi cellulose, caused by fungi and used for wood preservative 1. A process for treating such materials with these copper-containing antifungal agents is also disclosed. Copper(II)-complexes have octahedral, square pyramid and square planar geometries.
