A health management service is to measure, record, and manage the vital signs of users. The information technology field is always evolving, allowing many medical treatment services including up-to-date information technologies to be provided in the medical field. In the near future, services using Smart TVs, Smart watches, and Smart glasses will be developed. However, applying new devices to a legacy system will be a considerable burden to a service provider. In this paper, we suggest a scalable health management system that is based on Self-Organizing Software platform. We have validated the health management System and included Smart TV as a new device.

The Continua Health Alliance, which was started in 2006 to enable an interoperable personal telehealth ecosystem, has become a major force in the personal telehealth domain. Within one year after the release of the Version One Design Guidelines over a dozen interoperable products have been officially Continua Certified and many more are coming. In parallel Continua continued its technical developments and has since made great progress on defining interoperability for the LAN and WAN interfaces, and with that now enables end-to-end interoperability. In this paper we motivate why the establishment of such an ecosystem is an essential part in addressing the healthcare challenges in society and why it is essential to address interoperability. The paper introduces the Continua Health Alliance and describes in detail the Continua end-to-end architecture and guidelines, including its security aspects.

In this paper, we present an efficient method for establishing interoperability between legacy (nonstandard) personal health devices (PHDs) and standard PHD managers. Because legacy PHDs usually do not conform to the 11073 PHD standards, we propose a ZigBee Adaptation Module (ZAM) that can provide ISO/IEEE 11073 interoperability for legacy PHDs on the basis of the ZigBee Health Care (HC) profile. The ZAM allows for the exchange of the nonstandard messages of the legacy PHD with the messages corresponding to the 11073 standard in an interoperable manner. The ZAM also supports an HC profile for standard ZigBee communication with the PHD manager. To demonstrate this, we developed a PHD manager and the ZAM using a legacy device that measures blood pressure and glucose levels.
