We report the epitaxial growth of SrS co-doped with Eu and Sm (abbreviated as SrS:Eu,Sm) by solid-source molecular-beam epitaxy. The SrS films show that the crystallites are in regular cubic shape with ordered arrangement in [100] direction. The grain size was found to increase with deposition time at a fixed substrate temperature. The infrared stimulated luminescence with a peak at 620 nm can be observed at room temperature in SrS: Eu, Sm which is stimulated with infrared light after irradiation with visible light. Our results indicate the optimum substrate temperature to obtain the strong ISL emission intensity is at substrate temperature of 500 °C.
