“…Instead of the conventionally used polystyrene sulfonate (PSS) or polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) for surface modification, our preparation process utilizes carboxy-functionalized Fe 3 O 4 nanoparticles (Fe 3 O 4 -COOH) to facilitate iron oxide's chemical affinity with MOFs. 43,44 When Fe 3 O 4 -COOH is dispersed in the ZIF-8 precursor solution, Zn 2+ will be electrostatically attracted to the surface of the nanoparticles and coordinate with the carboxyl groups, i.e., the in situ growth is initiated by the binding of zinc ion and carboxylic acid group. Sequentially, 2-methylimidazole functions as a ligand to coordinate with Zn 2+ to synthesize the Fe 3 O 4 @ZIF-8 composite material (Fig.…”

“…Some research has looked into how to better treat wastewater containing dyes by combining metal composite nanoparticles with polymers. [37][38][39] A type of magnetic material known as spinel ferrites has the general formula MFe 2 O 4 (a divalent cation represented by the M). The diverse properties of these ferrites, which include electrical, electronic, optical, catalytic, and magnetic properties, have drawn interest from researchers in both fundamental studies and technological applications.…”

“…The thermal breakdown of organometallic compounds in high-boiling point organic solvents including stabilizing surfactants is one of the most promising wet chemical methods for producing monodisperse magnetic nanoparticles with control over particle size and shape [ 16 ]. Magnetic nanoparticles used in environmental applications typically have an inorganic nanoparticle at their core and a biocompatible substance coated on their surface to stabilize them under physiochemical circumstances [ 17 , 18 , 19 ]. Some nanoparticle systems used in different applications become dependent on these coatings [ 20 ].…”
