Novel design and analysis of RF MEMS shunt capacitive switch for radar and satellite communications

Abstract: <span>In this paper, a new type of Radio Frequency Micro-Electro-Mechanical System (RF-MEMS) shunt capacitive switch is designed and studied. RF MEMS switch has a number of advantages in a modern telecommunication system such as low power consumption, easy to fabricate and power handling capacity at radio frequency. At high frequency applications, this switch shows very superior performance due to which it now became one of the key elements for RF application. In this proposed design, an innovative type … Show more

“…The transmission as orthogonal permits for sending overlapping waveforms from the transmitter that have properties of orthogonality applied at the receiver side. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) can be considered a transmission technique of multi carrier modulation technology for future broadband wireless communications that offers greater robustness compared to frequency selective fading besides narrowband interference, also it effective in relations with multi path delay spread [14]. To complete these purposes, OFDM separates the accessible spectrum with multi carriers, each carrier may be modulated with lower rate data streams that employed in parallel transmission, thus it has improved the symbol duration.…”

“…For improving the efficiency of the quest for maximum power point, some brilliant training-based algorithms like artificial neural networks (ANNs) or fuzzy logic were created. Smart controllers, including the fuzzy logic system, outperformed perturb & observe (P&O) controllers in some cases [13]. Furthermore, compared to the P&O approach, the neuro-fuzzy hybrid intelligent control scheme shows certain advantages [14].…”

“…Several challenges are observed in the systems of the literature mentioned above, such as patient coverage area, the accuracy of decision-making, database, alerts, real time monitoring from any location and size of the device. This has interested us for designing with implementing a wearable wireless-based health-monitoring system that reads several vital parameters and makes a decision based on an algorithm that is stored on the cloud to contact the required person in the case of emergency [18]- [20]. The system measures the patient's data using several sensors and sends the real time data to the cloud server utilizing an Arduino controller.…”
