Novel Deliverability Test Method for HPHT Sour Gas Wells

Abstract: Sour gas reservoirs with H 2 S and/or CO 2 are widely spread in the whole world, especially in France, Canada, America and China. Most of sour gas reservoirs in China are HPHT tight gas reservoirs which require long testing duration to reach steady state when conducting deliverability test while long testing time leads to huge operation risk because testing tools are used close to critical temperature and pressure condition. In order to resolve the contradiction among testing duration, operation risk and interp… Show more

“…High pressure high temperature wells, typically defined as those where the bottom hole pressure exceeds 1000 bar (15,000 psi) and 177°C (350°F), pose many challenges to materials design from well testing to completion [1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8][9]. Because of well depths exceeding 1000 m, high-strength materials are required for production tubing, tubing hangers, and tubular connections.…”
