Novel covalently coated diazoresin/polyvinyl alcohol capillary column for the analysis of proteins by capillary electrophoresis

Abstract: A novel method for the preparation of covalently linked capillary coatings of PVA was demonstrated using photosensitive diazoresin (DR) as coupling agents. Layer-by-layer self-assembly film of DR and PVA based on hydrogen bonding was first fabricated on the inner wall of capillary, then the hydrogen bonding was converted into covalent bonding after treatment with UV light through the unique photochemistry reaction of DR. The covalently bonded coatings suppressed basic protein adsorption on the inner surface of… Show more

“…6, covalently linked capillary coating of PSS is prepared using the layer by layer self-assembly technique combined with photochemistry reactions. PSS coating based on ionic bonding was first assembled on the membrane surface by using photosensitive diazoresin (DR) as the coupling agent, and then the ionic bonding was converted into covalent bonding after treatment with UV light through a unique photochemistry reaction of DR [43][44][45]. Compared with uncrosslinked [PSS/PDADMAC] n PSS coating, the covalent PSS/DR coating has good stability and reproducibility.…”

“…33,34 The detection limits can be further improved if more sensitive detection technique is applied. [35][36][37][38][39] Additionally, the USB flash disk type MCE makes full use of the computer USB interface, and there is no need to carry an extra cumbersome high voltage power supply. Therefore, the USB flash disk type MCE is quiet energy saving and convenient.…”

“…For these reasons, CE has aimed a relatively big potential, especially in the fields of biomedical engineering, food security, and environmental protection analysis. However, interactions with the capillary wall can present a challenge in the use of CE for alpha‐1‐acid glycoprotein, glycoproteins , and related biomolecules . The presence of such interactions may lead to unstable electroosmotic flow (EOF), long migration times, and peak broadening during the analysis procedure .…”
