Novel biologically active polyurea derivatives and its TiO2-doped nanocomposites

Abstract: A new series of polyurea derivatives and its nanocomposites were synthesised by the solution polycondensation method through the interaction between 4(2-aminothiazol-4-ylbenzylidene)-4-(tert-butyl) cyclohexanone and diisocyanate compound in pyridine. The PU 1-3 structure was confirmed using Fourier transform-infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and characterised by solubility, viscometry, gel permeation chromatography (GPC), and X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis. In addition, PU 1-3 was evaluated by TGA. Polyurea-TiO 2… Show more

“…However, the peak of the N  C  O groups disappeared in the AP2 sample (Figure b). This behavior was attributed to a successful hydroxylation of the surface where the previously formed isocyanate groups reacted with the highly concentrated OH – ions of the alkaline solution. , The FT-IR spectrum of the ZnO nanorod-coated sample (ZnO/PU) displays the intense absorption band of the Zn–O bond located at 535 cm –1 , and the observed metal–oxygen frequencies are consistent with the literature . In addition, the signals at 3411 and 1414 cm –1 were ascribed to the stretching and bending vibrations of the O–H bonds assigned to the water adsorption on the ZnO surface.…”

These results confirmed that the ZnO nanorods are chemically bonded to the PU surface.…”

“…The commonly utilized technique to examine the molecular weight is Gel Permeation Chromatography. The molecular weight values were conducted and calculated by using a computer program [ 28 , 29 ]. The values of the average number and weight average molecular weights, as well as polydispersity index (Mw, Mn, Pw and DPI) of polyamides were evaluated, and the results are illustrated in ( Table 2) .…”

“…The Dock scoring in MOE software was calculated by London dG scoring function and was refined using two different methods. The planarity of the system was maintained, and the best poses were analyzed for the best score (Lafitte et al, 2002 ; Abdellattif et al, 2020 ; Almehmadi et al, 2020 ; Hosny et al, 2020 ; Hussein et al, 2020 ; Hussien and Abdelaziz, 2020 ).…”
