“…This technique was originally developed in France mostly by J.M. Lepetit [ 18 , 19 , 20 , 21 ] who worked in the 1970s and 1980s in the Neurological Functional Exploration Laboratory at the Dupuytren University Hospital in Limoges, France, where the first echotomoencephalograph or tomosphygmograph was built. As underlined above, the originality of UCTS compared to classical pulsatile echoencephalography is that measurement and recording of the cerebral pulsations take place in different tissue regions of the temporal lobes, making it possible to locate precisely these pulsations in the different neuronal structures within these lobes, resulting in a fundamentally more sensitive and precise method for monitoring neuronal functions and capillary hemodynamics in brain tissue.…”
