Purpose: Manufacturing firms are key to successful economic development, since they helps generate virtuous and cumulative linkages with other sectors of the economy, drives technological progress, and has the strongest potential for productivity gains. But, significant as they are, manufacturers face varied exposures with customers, employees, and operations. Innovation, from new technologies to expanding markets, can introduce opportunity but also potential vulnerabilities. The purpose of this work is to enhance the reader’s understanding on the various contribution of Industrial all risks insurance to the growth of manufacturing firms in Kenya. Methodology: A desktop literature review was used for this purpose. Relevant journal articles for the study were identified using search engines such as Google Scholar, Google Books, Semantic Scholar, Science.gov and Research Gate. Studies done between 2015 and 2022 were considered. Findings: From the findings, researchers have shown that subscribing to individual insurance covers can be expensive and might leave insurance gaps. The findings suggest that subscribing to all risk insurance policies have a direct impact on the growth and expansion of the firms in the manufacturing sector. Unique Contribution to Theory, Practice and Policy: The study recommends that all manufacturing firms in Kenya should seek Industrial all risks insurance coverage as it provides for protection against all potential incidents that can result to massive losses. Manufacturing firms should also seek Industrial all risks insurance coverage as an effort to restrict the loss to their balance sheets, and in that sense, helps them to stay solvent.

Within the context of rapid technological advancements, the ethical dimensions of maritime security are explored, focusing on the challenges and opportunities brought about by emerging technologies and their implications for maritime security practices. Potential risks related to technology misuse, such as privacy infringement, disproportionate use of force, and the erosion of human judgment and accountability, are emphasized. The importance of adopting a balanced approach that considers both the benefits and risks of technological advancements is stressed, as well as the need for robust governance frameworks and international cooperation to ensure responsible and ethical technology use in maritime security. The research methodology involves a systematic literature review of scholarly articles, policy documents, and relevant case studies in the field of maritime security. Ethical frameworks, including proportionality, necessity, transparency, accountability, and human rights, are applied to assess the ethical implications of technologies like unmanned maritime systems, cyber threats, and surveillance capabilities. The significance of ethical training and education for maritime security personnel in promoting responsible and accountable decision-making is underscored, and the article proposes the inclusion of case studies and simulations as effective tools for examining the practical application and effectiveness of ethical training in real-world scenarios. By advocating for a proactive approach that balances technological opportunities with ethical principles, this article contributes to the ongoing discourse on maritime security ethics, providing valuable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers in the field, and offering a roadmap for fostering a secure, transparent, and rights-respecting maritime domain.

The increasing expansion of Operational Technology (OT) and the digitalization of Information Technology (IT) in maritime transportation, as well as the equipping of ships with more automation, despite many benefits, introduces numerous cyber risks, especially with unauthorized access to data and ship systems. Due to the above, it becomes important to raise awareness and take measures to ensure adequate security; this is also important at the level of the virtual securing of ships. This article consists of an introduction to the topic. It presents the current trends and directions of development of maritime transportation and the risks related to them. It contains an overview of the current safety systems on ships and the present safety resolutions. Then, it describes issues related to modern piracy and the weaknesses of ship systems most vulnerable to cyber-attacks.
