“…The crack propagation threshold of pure iron is about 9 MPa•m 1/2 (Yu et al ., 1984), and that of hot-rolled 16Mn steel is about 10.8 MPa•m 1/2 at room temperature (Song et al ., 2019). When the stress intensity factor at the tip of the initial microcrack reaches the value of K th , the crack will enter a stable propagation stage in accordance with the Paris law (Oh, 2023) and eventually lead to fatigue failure. The calculated crack propagation threshold of rolled Fe-13Cr-4Al is slightly higher than that of the compositions mentioned above, indicating that it extends specimen fatigue life.…”
