Normalization of Domain Modeling in Enterprise Software Development

Abstract: Abstract. Normalization has become traditional in database design theory and practice. One disadvantage of the model-driven development is that usage of concepts normalization, and functional dependency in the enterprise software engineering is limited to only one stage of system development life cycle (SDLC) -the database design stage. The provided research of these concepts motivate normalization of the entire SDLC. The main part of the paper is devoted to the normalization of the enterprise modeling stage, … Show more

“…In brief, the concept of Elementary Management Cycle (EMC) [16] is a formalised description of the Enterprise management control as the interaction between the Function and the Process -as two core components of enterprise from the control point of view [17]. The interaction between the core elements a Function and a Process is formally assumed as a Control Process [18] with the Feedback Loop between the Function F(i) and the Process P(j). Life cycle model of the study program content formation as modified Value Chain is presented in Figure 1.…”

“…There are two different systems modelling paradigms: external modelling (a black box approach based), and internal modelling (a grey-box approach and white box approach based) (Gudas and Valatavicius, 2017). The level of awareness of the subject domain is increasing when moving from black-box models towards a grey-box and, finally, to a white-box model.…”

“…Most of the systems modelling methods belong to the external modelling paradigm (Gudas and Valatavicius, 2017). Business process modelling languages BPMN (OMG specification), Data Flow Diagrams (DFD), IDEF, UML, SysML, Event-Process Chain (EPC) based ARIS method designed to describe the results of the external observation, but not internal causation dependencies.…”
