“Noor-2013” a Bold Seeded and High Yielding Chickpea Kabuli Variety Developed Indigenously

Abstract: The aim of study was to determine the effect of (Brufen TM) alone and in conjugation with vitamin E and Selenium in broilers against coccidiosis. One hundred randomly allocated (25 birds in each group i.e., A, B, C & D) day-old broiler chicks underwent the current trial. Group A, B and C were challenged with 60,000-70,000 sporulated oocysts of genus Eimeria at 21 st day of age. Group A and B were administered with (Brufen TM) and combination of (Brufen TM) with vitamin E and Selenium (E-Sel TM) @ 100mg/kg body… Show more

“…The genetic gain/ improvement made over time by this part of plant breeding in realizing sustainable crop productions are stupendous (Akhatar et al, 2022;Begna, 2021). A number of chickpea varieties in Pakistan and other parts of the world have been developed using this scheme (Duarte, 2022;Khan et al, 2023;Naveed et al, 2020;Rasool et al, 2023). The new cultivar, Noor-2019, also evolved through this procedure, performed good and regularly surpassed standard checks in its testing stage.…”

“…Further, various stresses such as disease, drought, heat, cold etc. when occur alone or in different combinations adversely affect chickpea crop causing severe production losses (Naveed et al, 2019(Naveed et al, , 2020. For example, fusarium wilt alone can cause 12 M rupees production losses in chickpea (Fatima et al, 2022a, b).…”
