Nonlinear Optical Spectroscopy of Ce<sup>3+</sup> Ions in Insulating Crystals

Abstract: Coherent anti-Stokes Raman spe~troscopy (CARS) involving electronic states of rare earth ions in insulating crystals has shown only limited success, unlike CARS involving vibrational transitions.
