Abstract:Wooden beams have been traditionally used for centuries as the supporting elements for roofs. Long exposure to environmental conditions and aging cause deterioration and decay of the wooden beams in historical structures, whereby restoration or strengthening is often needed to preserve its historical and archaeological value.
