Nonlinear Adaptive Control with Asymmetric Pressure Difference Compensation of a Hydraulic Pressure Servo System Using Two High Speed On/Off Valves

Abstract: A hydraulic pressure servo system based on two high-speed on/off valves (HSV) is a discontinuous system due to the discrete flow of HSV when driven by pulse width modulation (PWM) signal. Pressure variation in the testing chamber is determined by the flow rate difference between the charging and discharging HSV. In this paper, a pressure controller consisting of a differential PWM (DPWM) scheme, asymmetric pressure difference compensation (APDC) and nonlinear adaptive control (NAC) is proposed to precisely con… Show more

“…To overcome the trajectory tracking control challenge, a variety of studies to improve the control performance have been conducted for the trajectory tracking control, e.g., speed control to track reference trajectory [6], speed predictive control [7], active disturbance rejection control [8,9], sliding mode control for path tracking [10,11], and adaptive control [12,13]. From these studies, the accurate trajectory tracking control behavior cannot be easily guaranteed in the presence of uncertainties or external disturbances, especially for the coal mine drilling robot for rockburst prevention (CMDR).…”

“…However, limited to the technical conditions at that time, the stall mechanism caused by TLF can only be explained from the external characteristics rather than the in-depth analysis of the flow field. With the development of computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and advanced experimental technology, the local flow field in rotating machinery can be described, 9,10 which provides the possibility to further explore the stall mechanism of rotating machinery. At present, many scholars believe that the distortion of the TLF is an important reason for the occurrence of rotating stall.…”
