Nonleptonic two-body weak decays of Λb in a modified MIT bag model

Abstract: We study the nonleptonic two-body weak decays of Λ b by modifying the MIT bag model without introducing new parameters to construct the momentum eigenstates of the baryons. We find that the branching ratios of Λ 0 b → Λ þ c π − , Λ þ c K − , pπ − , and pK − are ð4.5 AE 0.2Þ × 10 −3 , ð3.4 AE 0.1Þ × 10 −4 , ð5.0 AE 0.5Þ × 10 −6 , and ð6.0 AE 0.7Þ × 10 −6 , which are all consistent with the current experimental data, respectively. We also explore P and CP asymmetries for the decays of Λ 0 b → pðπ − ; K − Þ. In p… Show more

“…In this study, we calculate them with the modified MIT bag model [44], in which the center motions of the baryon waves are removed. The hadrons parameters are given as [44,54] m b = 4.8 GeV, m s = 0.28 GeV, m u = m d = 0.005 GeV , R −1 = 0.21 ± 0.01GeV , (4.7) where R is the bag radius, and (f φ , f ω , f ρ ) = (215 ± 5, 187 ± 5, 216 ± 3) MeV [55] . The numerical results of the form factors with the q 2 dependencies are given in table 3.…”

“…In refs. [41][42][43][44], the generalized factorization approach has been considered, in which the renormalization dependence of the Wilson coefficients has been absorbed into the effective ones in the next to leading log precision [45]. However, the effective color number, found as N c ≈ 2 in the decays of B mesons, has to be included to parametrize the NF effects in the branching ratios.…”

“…(2.21) from the modified bag model [48] with the numerical results given in table 1, 1 where the first and second uncertainties in the branching ratios come from the bag radius of R = (4.8 ± 0.2 GeV) −1 [48] and CKM elements [29], respectively. In particular, the T violating asymmetries are found to be , where the first and second uncertainties in the branching ratios come from the bag radius [48] and CKM elements [29], respectively.…”

“…To get the more precise results, we adopt the generalized factorization approach, in which the renormalization dependency in the naive factorization has been absorbed into the effective Wilson coefficients to the next to leading log precision [66]. Accordingly, the color-enhanced amplitudes are given as [42,43,48,54]…”
