NonleptonicBsto charmonium decays: Analysis in pursuit of determining the weak phaseβs

Abstract: We analyze nonleptonic B s decays to a charmonium state and a light meson, induced by the b ! c " cs transition, which are useful to access the B s -" B s mixing phase s . We use generalized factorization and SUð3Þ F symmetry to relate such modes to correspondent B decay channels. We discuss the feasibility of the measurements in the various channels, stressing the importance of comparing different determinations of s in view of the hints of new physics effects recently emerged in the B s sector. Finally, adop… Show more

“…[10], there are some important points that have been overlooked and a more detailed analysis of the K + K − invariant mass distributions and Dalitz plot will be provided in the present study. So far, it is known that there is no satisfactory treatment of nonleptonic B s to charmonium decays at present [11]. Keeping this in mind, the factorization approach is used for the description of the nonleptonic charmonium B s decays under study.…”

“…For discussions on the B s → J/ψf 0 (980)[f 0 (980) → π + π − ] channel, refer to Refs. [21][22][23][24][25]. The chiral unitary approach including final state interaction [26][27][28] was employed to investigate the B 0 (s) → J/ψπ + π − decays recently.…”

“…On the other hand, since the f 0 ≡ f 0 (980) is a scalar J P C = 0 ++ state, the final state is CP-odd so that no angular analysis is required in order to disentangle CP eigenstates as in the case of the B 0 s → J/ψφ decay. Consequently, the analysis is simplified considerably and offers an interesting alternative for the determination of φ s [98,99].…”
