Abstract:Background: Nonalcoholic fatty liver disease comprises a spectrum of lesions ranging from steatosis to cirrhosis, with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis being the progressive form of the disease. Alcohol intake, viral hepatitis and other liver diseases must be excluded.
