Abstract:A stack of moving, non‐uniformly loaded, parallel, antiplane shear strip cracks within an isotropic elastic solid is analyzed, by exploiting an extended dislocation layer technique using moving screw dislocations. Detailed closed‐form expressions are obtained and discussed for the stress components at general points of the deformation that is created. Their variations with the polar angle near a crack tip are investigated and a neat representation of the corresponding novel, comprehensive, stress intensity fac… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
