Non-pharmacological measures for pain management in newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit: Integrative Review

Abstract

General Objective: To identify which non-pharmacological measures are applied within the NICU. Method: The study used the integrative literature review method, carried out in the databases: MEDLINE; LILACS; BDENF; and IBECS. Results: After using inclusion and exclusion criteria, 11 studies with a quantitative approach were selected. Conclusion: Most articles discuss the most widespread and used non-pharmacological measures, not extending or bringing the benefits of others, which becomes a challenge during the assistance provided to this public.
