Abstract:The effect of non-homogeneous thermal boundary conditions on temperature statistics in low Prandtl number turbulent pipe flows is studied numerically via direct numerical simulations. Two wall heat flux distributions, varying in azimuthal direction and motivated by concentrated solar power systems, are prescribed and their influence on the thermal field is presented. As a reference, also homogeneous thermal boundary conditions are simulated and compared the the non-homogeneous ones. The influence of the azimut… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
