Non-gelated polymeric photonic crystal films

Abstract: A rapid curing method for the preparation of colloidal photonic crystal films is presented. Firstly, a colloidal crystal array template was prepared by self-assembly of nanospheres, and then a dilute polymer solution was poured into the gap of the template. Then the composite photonic film was obtained as the polymer solution was cured. Such films have good properties in mechanical strength, anti pH interference, rapid solvent response and are easy to preserve. The films show good linear response to ethanol aq… Show more

“…Therefore, the solid tensile strength and flexibility of DN hydrogel can solve the shortcomings, and it has a unique attraction in flexible sensors [ 59 ]. Both traditional hydrogels and ionic liquid-based hydrogels have high internal water content [ 60 ]. When the temperature rises, the evaporating water and leaking ions affect the electronic devices.…”

“…For example, only changing the lattice spacing by changing its volume fraction in the polymer matrix, their color changed from blue to red (red shift). 28,29 Red-shift or blue-shift also can be observed when the PCs are stretched or compressed. When the lattice space decreases, a blue-shift is observed in the perpendicular stretching direction.…”
