Non-Fellowship regional anesthesia training and assessment: an international Delphi study on a consensus curriculum

Abstract: Background and objectivesWhile there are several published recommendations and guidelines for trainees undertaking subspecialty Fellowships in regional anesthesia, a similar document describing a core regional anesthesia curriculum for non-fellowship trainees is less well defined. We aimed to produce an international consensus for the training and teaching of regional anesthesia that is applicable for the majority of worldwide anesthesiologists.MethodsThis anonymous, electronic Delphi study was conducted over … Show more

“…14,15 A number of recently published international collaborations will help guide teaching, education, and clinical practice, improving the potential for comparative research and advancing our understanding of the clinical applications of RA. [16][17][18][19][20] Whilst generation of new evidence is vital, it is equally important to ensure that important research findings are translated in to clinical practice. The production of clinical guidelines has long bridged the gap between evidence synthesis and implementation in practice, and the role of local "champions" is recognised as a powerful influence for instituting change.…”
