Noether symmetries and quantum cosmology in extended teleparallel gravity

Abstract: We apply the Noether Symmetry Approach to point-like teleparallel Lagrangians in view to derive minisuperspaces suitable for Quantum Cosmology. Adopting the Arnowitt–Deser–Misner formalism, we find out related Wave Functions of the Universe. Specifically, by means of appropriate changes of variables suggested by the existence of Noether symmetries, it is possible to obtain the cosmological Hamiltonians whose solutions are classical trajectories interpretable as observable universes.

“…Essentially, these effective actions can be distinguished in two main categories: Extended Theories of Gravity [35][36][37][38][39][40][41][42] which improve the Hilbert-Einstein action involving higherorder curvature invariants or scalar fields, and Alternative Theories of Gravity, where some basic assumptions of GR are relaxed, as well as the torsionless connection, the metricity or the universal validity of the equivalence principle [43][44][45][46][47][48][49].…”

“…Though the teleparallel field equations are exactly equivalent to those of Einstein's GR, f (R) theory and f (T) theory are different. Nevertheless, extended TEGR provides several cosmological predictions not contemplated by GR, as well as modifications to the ΛCDM model [42], the explanation of the accelerated universe expansion without dark energy [14,17,43,44], and models for the inflationary paradigm [25].…”
