Disease recurrence has been reported in 27% of cases with pediatric-onset LS and 17% of those with adult-onset LS. 5 Therefore, physicians should be aware of the possibility of recurrence, even after many years, so that treatment is not delayed. Musculoskeletal involvement may be more common than expected in adult-onset GM. Accumulation of more cases will help to clarify the risk of musculoskeletal involvement, including osteomyelitis, in patients with adult-onset GM.
