“…2 In dogs, nodular airway diseases include Oslerus osleri infection, nodular amyloidosis, eosinophilic granulomas, tracheal papillomatosis, and tracheal neoplasia. [12][13][14][15] Nodular epithelial hyperplasia also has been described in association with chronic tracheitis. 16 Treatment of TO in people is not indicated unless nodules are causing airway obstruction, in which case endoscopic removal or laser therapy is often performed.…”

“…Staining with congo red and examination by polarized light of sections from representative blocks taken from the trachea and bronchi of this case was also negative for amyloid. Furthermore, nodular amyloidosis of the trachea of the dog has been recorded only once to our knowledge (Dill et al, 1972).…”

“…Osteosarcoma, osteoma, chondroma, osteochondroma and carcinoma have been reported as tracheal tumours (Moulton, 1961 ;Maksic & Small, 1965;Reed, 1965;Brodey et al, 1969;Gourley, Morgan & Gould, 1970;Ettinger & Ticer, 1975). Hyperplastic tracheal proliferations produced iatrogenically or by traumata (Knecht, Schall & Barret, 1972;Gordon, 1973;Ettinger & Ticer, 1975), Filaroides osleri infestation (Soulsby, 1965;Smith, Jones & Hunt, 1972;Kelly, 1964), nodular amyloidosis (Dill, Stookey & Witney, 1972) and unknown causes (Costa, 1947;Kelly, 1964) have been reported. This paper records a tracheal obstruction caused by multiple nodular proliferations of the mucosa.…”
