“…, 58 but the association was not confirmed in subsequent studies 59–62 . The SNP is not associated with type 1 diabetes (T1D), 63,64 Graves’ disease, 63 SLE, 65 Hashimoto’s thyroiditis 66 or myasthenia gravis 67 . An association was found with autoimmune hepatitis, 68 and another study reported an increased frequency of the SNP in systemic sclerosis 69 .…”

“…PCR of exon A of the PTPRC gene was carried out in a final volume of 40 lL with 200 ng DNA, 25lL PCR Master (Roche, Mannheim, Germany) containing 1.25 U Taq polymerase in 20 mM Tris-HCl, 100 mM KCl, 3 mM MgCl 2 , dNTP mix (dATP, dCTP, dGTP and dTTP each 0.4 mM), and 20 pmol exon A-specific primers (forward, 5¢-ATTTATTTTGTCCTTCTCCCA-3¢ and reverse, 5¢-GTTAACAACTTTTGTGTGCCAAC-3¢). Amplification conditions were described elsewhere (Thude et al, 2010). PCR products were precipitated and subsequently digested with MspI (New England Biolabs GmbH, Frankfurt am Main, Germany), according to the manufacturer's recommendation.…”

“…Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT), also known as chronic lymphocytic or autoimmune thyroid disease, is the most common inflammatory disease affecting the thyroid gland and the leading cause of primary hypothyroidism, with a prevalence of roughly 5% in the adult population and rising prevalence and incidence [3]. It is considered to be the consequence of an immune response leading to abnormal infiltration of autoantigens including thyroglobulin (TG) and thyroid peroxidase (TPO) specifically in lymphocytes that contribute to the damage to thyroid follicles [4,5]. The exact pathogenesis of Hashimoto's thyroiditis (HT) also has not been fully clarified.…”
