Abstract:Introduction: Striatal dopamine transporter imaging using 123I-ioflupane SPECT (DaTScan, GE) identifies 5-20% of newly diagnosed Parkinson's disease (PD) subjects enrolling in clinical studies to have scans without evidence of dopaminergic deficit (SWEDD).
