“…Our results showed that phosphorylation of Akt at Thr308 equally plays a crucial role in NO production both in vitro and in vivo , revealing an important role of p‐Akt Thr 308 in maintaining vascular tone. Although only HUVECs were used in the cell experiments of the present study, to our knowledge, the other types of endothelial cells derived from different vascular tissues (veins or arteries) or different calibers (aorta or arteriole) exert similar Akt phosphorylation pattern [47–49].…”

“…As previously mentioned, nicorandil attenuates I/R injury in the myocardium and reduces apoptosis in the cardiomyocytes of rats with diabetic cardiomyopathy. In addition, nicorandil, as a drug that improves microvascular circulation [ 27 ], causes vasodilation through two pathways: first, it has a nitrate-like effect, providing NO, and second, it selectively opens ATP-sensitive potassium channels (K ATP ) in cell membranes and mitochondria [ 28 ]. Moreover, clinical studies have revealed that intracoronary injection of nicorandil prior to PCI for ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) significantly improved myocardial perfusion and reduced arrhythmias during PCI in patients with STEMI [ 29 ] and effectively reduced the incidence of adverse cardiovascular events.…”

“…The association between hsa_circ_0004543 and endothelial cell invasion was assessed by monitoring HUVEC invasion. NOS3 (also named eNOS) is an important downstream mediator of the PI3K/AKT pathway (Zhan et al, 2020). The PI3K enzyme is a kinase that catalyzes the phosphorylation of phosphoinositide and is widely expressed in various types of cells and participates in various biological processes.…”
