Abstract:Introduction: Nicolau syndrome (NS) was first described in 1924 by Freudental and Nicolau in a syphilis patient that was treated with injections of bismuth. NS is characterized by skin necrosis secondary to vascular occlusion caused by intramuscular drug injections.
