“…The complex [Ni2(L)(dmphen)2]Cl2 showed d-d band at 574 nm, assigned as 1 A1g→ 1 A2g transition which refers to the square planar geometry around the Ni(II) ion [17]. In complex [Ni2(L)(phen)2]Cl2, the weak d-d transition bands are not observed probably because the bands are lost in the low energy tail of intense charge transfer band [18,19], whereas, in cobalt complexes [Co2(HL)(dmphen)2Cl4], [Co2(HL)(phen)2Cl4] the d-d transitions ascertained at 640 and 617 nm, respectively. These bands are assigned as a 4 T1g(F)→ 4 A2g(F) transition [20], usually the octahedral complexes contain three bands, but here only one band is appeared.…”
