Nickel foam supported mesoporous NiCo2O4 arrays with excellent methanol electro-oxidation performance

Abstract: Schematic of the electro-oxidation reaction process of NiCo2O4 nanocloth arrays on nickel foam. The unique morphological features can afford efficient 3D electron transport during the redox reaction.

In another work done by Liu and co‐workers, a mesoporous NiCo 2 O 4 nanocloth arrays supported on Ni foam was directly prepared by a mild and adjustable hydrothermal method and applied to methanol electro‐oxidation . This NiCo 2 O 4 nanocloth array electrode shows higher catalytic performance for MOR in an alkaline medium compared with NiCo 2 O 4 in another form of nanosheet arrays, which could be attributed to more adequate open spaces and shorter ion diffusion paths to facilitate rapid ionic transportation of its nanocloth array structure.…”
